Clean Water for All: Impact Initiative Expands Safe Water Access Across Bangladesh

Access to safe drinking water remains a major challenge in Bangladesh, particularly in rural and disaster-prone areas. According to UNICEF, while over 98% of Bangladesh’s population has access to basic water services, millions still suffer from contamination caused by arsenic, salinity intrusion, and microbial pollution—especially in coastal and northern regions.

In response to this ongoing crisis, Impact Initiative, with the generous support of the Project Us Foundation, has installed one deep tubewell in the southern region of Bangladesh, where groundwater is often saline, and three shallow wells in the northern region, where many communities face limited access to clean surface water.

These newly installed wells are providing hundreds of families with safe, reliable, and easily accessible drinking water. The initiative not only helps prevent waterborne diseases but also reduces the daily hardship of fetching water from distant or unsafe sources—especially benefiting women and children.

Through projects like this, Impact Initiative continues to strengthen community resilience and promote healthier, more sustainable living conditions for marginalized populations across Bangladesh.
