Education, Skills & Youth Development
Education and youth development are central to building an inclusive, equitable, and resilient society. In Bangladesh, the sector continues to face challenges such as unequal access, quality gaps, climate-induced disruptions, inadequate infrastructure, and a shortage of trained teachers—particularly in marginalized, remote, and crisis-affected communities, including Rohingya and host populations. At the same time, the country’s growing youth population presents a unique opportunity to drive economic growth, innovation, and social transformation, if adequately supported with skills, opportunities, and safe environments.
Impact Initiative (IMI) adopts an integrated approach that combines education, skills development, youth engagement, and digital empowerment to address these challenges holistically. Our interventions aim to ensure that children and young people not only access quality education but also gain the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
In the Next Five Years (2026–2030), Impact Initiative (IMI) Will Focus On:
- Expanding access to inclusive and quality education at primary, secondary, and TVET levels.
- Strengthening teacher capacity, learning environments, and education system resilience.
- Scaling up market-driven skills development and vocational training aligned with industry needs.
- Promoting digital literacy, ICT skills, and safe online engagement for youth.
- Supporting youth entrepreneurship through incubation, mentorship, and access to finance.
- Enhancing employability through career counseling, job placement, and soft skills development.
- Establishing platforms for youth leadership, civic participation, and volunteer engagement.
- Strengthening youth-led organizations and innovation networks.
- Preventing online risks through awareness and protection initiatives.
- Ensuring inclusion of women, persons with disabilities, and marginalized youth in all programs.
- Building partnerships with government, private sector, and development actors to strengthen education-to-employment pathways.
