Humanitarian & Emergency Response
Bangladesh is highly exposed to frequent natural disasters and complex humanitarian crises, including floods, cyclones, river erosion, landslides, and displacement. These shocks disproportionately impact vulnerable populations living in climate-affected and densely populated areas, leading to loss of lives, livelihoods, shelter, and essential services.
Impact Initiative (IMI) provides timely, life-saving, and dignity-based humanitarian assistance to crisis-affected communities. Our approach focuses on rapid response, community-based delivery mechanisms, and integrated recovery support that links emergency relief with resilience building. IMI also ensures coordination with government systems, humanitarian clusters, and development partners to deliver effective and accountable response services.
In the Next Five Years (2026–2030), Impact Initiative (IMI) Will Focus On:
- Establishing emergency and community-based education centers to ensure continuity of learning during crises and displacement situations.
- Expanding life-saving assistance, including food, shelter, WASH, NFIs, and emergency health services.
- Enhancing disaster preparedness, early warning systems, and community-based resilience mechanisms.
- Scaling up integrated humanitarian response in Rohingya camps (Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char).
- Strengthening participation in coordinated response frameworks, including the JRP and humanitarian clusters.
- Improving protection services for vulnerable groups, including women, children, and persons with disabilities.
- Expanding seasonal support programs for extremely vulnerable populations.
- Providing dignified social support, including safe and rights-based marriage assistance for extremely vulnerable individuals.
- Strengthening early recovery and livelihood restoration after disasters.
- Enhancing coordination with government, humanitarian agencies, and local stakeholders for effective response delivery.
- Integrating resilience, risk reduction, and long-term development approaches into humanitarian programming.
